Overcrowded Hospitals

20.04.2018

To understand the organizational quality of medical care in Austria - whether patients come to the hospital too often (see the current ORF ZIB2) - an international indicator has been developed: ACSC (Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions). Special diseases have been selected, that can be prevented by treatment in the private practice, or whose consequences could be avoided by timely diagnosis and proper care.

An earlier DEXHELPP report has pointed out that there are significant abnormalities at district, supply region and federal state level. Currently, analyses are running on the existing supply structure and what impact planned and possible changes have.
